MEMORIES FROM HOME

The fear of forgetting, the uncertainty of the future and the imminent departure from the childhood home are the motivations to investigate the memory of home and everyday life. The intimate archive manages to anticipate the inevitable (the distancing from what is familiar today) and allows emotional experiences to be preserved. The artist evidences his existence by showing his daily routine and the most important private places, paying homage to personal space and encouraging interest in the viewer to reflect on their own home and history.

The gaze navigates from the room to the garden, from the living room to the garage and from the kitchen to the studio, in the same way that the artist moves through the house. The drawings are windows, holes through which a silent journey can be glimpsed. The images were drawn from memory, so that it is put to the test and the omitted, added or distorted details are analyzed. As they are images from the near past, a greater detail and fidelity to reality is achieved, always subjective and conditioned by emotion and the affective bond to the personal space.
